Como Zoo

Preston's paparazzi avoidance: "Please no more pictures!"
Damien just chilling
The seals!!

We have this zoo out here in St. Paul that is free (they ask for voluntary donations and you can choose the amount) and so I bundled up the boys (it's been in the 40's), packed a lunch and swept them off to see the animals. We had a great time, I am thinking that we will become frequent visitors to this zoo! Preston loves animals and didn't mind that some of the animals were off-display for a winter vacation, instead he was enamored with the monkeys, tigers, and seals! He especially liked the seals, though he kept shouting out "look mommy, big fish!" it was cute!

A Flurry of Posts...

Okay, so I have been a slacker and have some posts that should have been put up a while ago, oops!! I've been busy trying to get ready for the holidays and have been shirking my duties!! So without further ado...

Off to Oz

Before we even got out the door, the tin man was not happy. For you see the wicked witch of the west was making him wear his funnel hat and the tin man did not want to wear it.
Eventually the tin man forgave the wicked witch (who incidentally turned into Glenda the good witch after letting him use the Spongebob bucket) and allowed himself to be photographed.
Well, sort of...if you know our tin man, you can see that he is just about to say: "don't do that!"
The little pony was quite content in his costume, it was warm and comfy! Here's a side shot, I really was digging the tail!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!!

Sunday Time

We made pizza for supper today and Preston LOVES helping out (especially when it involves anything messy) and so he wanted to help Jason with the pizza. He first decided that the crust was too large and appetizing and so he tore it in half. Then he wanted to lick off all the tomato sauce instead of putting it on the pizza. And finally he kept stealing cheese off the pizza and when we would call him on it he would try and divert our attention with a huge goofy smile and say "Yum, good cheese!" You can see where he tore the crust in half. As Jason would say, thanks buddy. All tuckered out after making the pizza, he couldn't stay awake long enough to enjoy the fruits of his labors.
This was after nap time in the early evening. He loves my shoes and so he grabbed a pair and then wanted to push his dump truck around the house in them, very manly.

Damien all dressed for church. I liked the outfit and wanted a picture because at this rate, it'll be the only time he will wear it, and I was so proud of the cute sweater vest, only a buck at Children's Place!! And we got him to smile at the camera! Miracle of miracles!!

Carving Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins for family night last Monday and they turned out pretty good, too bad they didn't last very long, next year we are carving 2 days before Halloween so they'll last! From left to right: Damien, Preston, Sara, and Jason (in case you can't read it, Jason's pumpkin says BOO, but Preston decided to knock out the middle of both O's and the bottom of the B, what a swell kid!)Preston modeling his pumpkin. He got a real kick out of the light we put inside his pumpkin and would try and blow it out like a "happy cake" (aka: birthday cake) but what he didn't quite catch was that the light was one of those fake LED flame ones, it was pretty cute watching him sing "happy cake" and try. Here's Damien and his pumpkin. We decided that it looks kind of like Jack Skeleton from Nightmare Before Christmas but only happier. He slept through everything and decided to wake up when all the hard work was done. What a baby! (before this shot, he was smiling and happy, but whenever we pull out the camera, he gets his deer-caught-in-the-headlights-look, he is definitely not digging the camera, oh well, tough...)

Apple Picking

This week was Jason's fall break and so we took advantage of the mini-vacation and tried to do a lot of fun activities and one of them was apple picking! We went out to Delano to Apple Jack Orchards and picked our own fireside apples. Preston enjoyed eating them, even the ones off the ground. We also picked out our pumpkins (one for each of us) and had some apple cider brats with a hot apple and onion slaw for lunch (super yummy!). They had some goats, chickens, and ducks and so Preston had fun trying to get the attention of the animals so he could feed them (one grain at a time of course). We also have attempted potty training this week, yeah, it was a long wet week, so if in any of the pictures Preston appears wet, you'll know why. All in all, we had a great time!!

Preston's Vacation

Grandma and Papa Luna came out to help Brit and Jeff with the arrival of Wyatt and asked if Preston could go to Wisconsin with them to hang out and play with Ettoile. We of course said: "Are you crazy? You want to willingly take him for a week?!?! OK!!" So Preston went to Wisconsin for a fall vacation! He had a fun time, I think we missed him more than he missed us, though when we showed up Friday he was a little miffed that we had been gone and gave us the silent treatment for all of 3 minutes and then promptly forgave us. The picture is of him giving us the hand when we tried to make amends, drama boy. Mad props to grandma and papa for taking on the two toddlers, luckily they play really well with each other and there weren't too many meltdowns, but I think by the end of the week, they had their fill of grandkids!Little Wyatt is about two weeks old now and looks a lot like Jeff! He's a tiny one but has some big lungs when he's hungry. Here's Jason with Wyatt, Wyatt fit perfectly on Jason's forearm. And we had to throw this one in because we haven't posted any pictures of Damien smiling, he's got a cute crooked grin!
